Ethnic Style II

Each of the black onyx stones and sterling silver beads in this necklace are hand wrapped with silver wire. The sterling silver (925) beads are Bali style with intricate hand made details. They are oxidised (or blackened) to highlight the detail. It finishes with a secure silver lobster clasp closure, and is about 15" in length.

Ethnic Style

These are completely handmade using silver wire, sterling silver handmade Bali style beads and black onyx stones. The sterling silver beads are oxidised (or blackened) to accentuate the detail. I have hand wrapped each stone and bead, and hand forged and coiled the ear hooks. I've added a slight hammered detail to the ends. The matching necklace is coming soon....

Ice

This icy winter necklace is made with large rough cut faceted natural quartz crystals that I have hand wrapped with silver wire, and the links are also hand wrapped silver coils. It finishes with a secure silver lobster clasp closure.

Oh Canada!

Only after this bracelet was completed and I was photographing it did I realize that it was red and white... Turns out I carried a little patriotism in to my design...
I've hand strung this three strand bracelet with chips of Garnet gemstone, fresh water pearls and a few silver accents. For the closure, I have used a rhodium plated magnetic tube clasp.

Malachite Funk II

The matching bracelet for the previous earrings... I have hand wrapped the malachite stones and copper filigree beads with copper wire and added two hand wrapped brass beads to the ends to balance the weight of the stones. For a chain maille accent, I have hand woven two sections of Byzantine link with copper rings and placed them on the sides of the bracelet. It finishes with a secure copper lobster clasp.

The great thing about copper is that it slowly oxidises over time with exposure to your skin and the air. Your own piece of copper jewellery will take a unique patina as you wear it. I love it because it is personal to the wearer!

Malachite Funk

For these earrings I have used malachite stones and copper filigree beads. They are hand wrapped with copper wire and the ear hooks are also hand made from copper wire.

Design Challenge

I've just entered this piece in a design contest requiring the use of crystals in a jewellery item. It's a piece I made back in September (Smokey Quartz Allure). Wish me luck!

Silver Fringe

These "silver fringe" earrings are handmade with five lengths of 2" single loop silver chain on each, separated by small silver beads. I have also made the silver ear hooks by hand.

Hearts and Pearls

For the centre piece in the bracelet I have used a cast silver heart. I then hand wrapped fresh water pearls with silver beads, and finished it with a simple lobster clasp closure. When it was complete, I looked at it and thought that it would look perfectly in place on a bride's wrist; this might just be the first piece in a new bridal collection... Here's a close up.

Silver Loops

This silver necklace is completely handwoven. I have broken it up a little with some hand wrapped onyx stones, and I've also included large links. All of the large loops are hand forged and hand hammered. The necklace is quite long at about 57" (146 cm) with no clasp. It is meant to wrap twice around, but can also be worn three times around for a fit closer to the neck.

Spheres of Onyx

For these earrings, I have hand wrapped two large round black onyx stones (12 mm), and hung a little bit of silver chain fringe in uneven lengths from them, so the earrings move freely. At the end of each chain, I've attached smaller round black onyx stones that are half the size of the large ones (6 mm). The ear hooks are also handmade from silver plated metal. They are shorter than I usually make, finishing at the top of the first stone in the back so they do not interfere with the chains. The full length of the earrings down to the longest chain is about 2 1/4" (6 cm).

Back With Bells On

I haven't posted in a little over a week, but now that I am adjusted to the "back to school and work" schedule I think I'll be a bit more regular. I had my first test this past week, so one of my excuses is extensive studying. There's another one coming up in two weeks, but I'll try not to disappear.
This is a silver necklace with small clam shaped dangles half way around, I think they kind of look like little bells... It's about 14" (42 cm) in length with an extender and a simple lobster clasp closure. It looks best sitting close to the neck just over the collar bone. Definitely an attention grabbing piece!
